The Brecon Beacons offers some excellent caving and potholing opportunites thanks to its geology. Some of the caves are easy to stroll into and accessible to the general public. Others though are dangerous and should only be attempted by experienced cavers with the correct equipment.
Whether you are new to caving or looking push your abilities to the max there’s a cave for you somewhere in the Brecon Beacons.
With its varied and protected geology – parts of the Brecon Beacons have been designated as a Geopark – it is the perfect place in the UK to look to when you want to know where to go caving. Many of the caves are locked to prevent public access and you may need to contact the managing club or organisation for the key to gain access to the cave entry.
And don’t forget to visit the National Show Caves Centre which is in the Brecon Beacons National Park.
